Elm Room

Elm Room is one of three classes in Glenable. Our class is made up of 7 Primary 3 children who have a range of additional support needs and they are supported by 3 members of staff; Mrs Gillespie, Mrs Corris and a new Learning Assistant,  who will be joining us in the near future.

Some of our children attend their mainstream schools for part of the week and spend the rest of the week with us. We like to maintain a structured routine and every morning we are learning about literacy and numeracy. In the afternoons we focus on interdisciplinary learning, looking at different topics and learning all about them. We love finding out fun facts! We really like singing and dancing along to music and are rather good singers!

We enjoy going to Softplay and the Sensory room and each week we spend some of our time in the local community, visiting the Bright Sparks Centre, going to the local park or participating in Riding for the Disabled.

The Elm Room is a cheerful and lively environment where our children can happily flourish and grow.
