In Primary 5/6, we work our socks off! We believe that if we work hard, we can play hard and we strive to have fun each and every day. In the mornings, we work in focused groups with Miss Kidd and Mrs Elrick to develop our Literacy and Numeracy skills. In the afternoons, we explore a range of interesting topics and learn skills for work and skills for life.
Our highlights so far....
Several times a week, we play a range of fun games in pairs or groups. This helps develop our social skills and encourages us to build relationships with people we might not otherwise play with. We really enjoy it!
We work in small groups to make a range of delicious treats. We’ve learned to follow recipes, measure ingredients and write instructions. Treats we have enjoyed making include chocolate crispies, melted snowmen and coconut truffles.
Every Friday, we end the week by inviting our parents/carers in to class for breakfast. We reflect on our week’s learning and discuss lots of things, for example what we are most proud of, what we’d like to improve on and what we are looking forward to in the coming week.
We are excellent role models and enjoy supporting our Primary 1 pupils. We often join them on outings in the community, help them with Maths and Technologies learning and teach them how to make biscuits.
We understand that everyone learns in different ways and have the opportunity to choose activities that best suit our individual learning styles. In our class, we have a range of visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners.
We hope you liked reading about our class!
